This site is run by Andrew McGuire, a sole proprietor based in Bend, Oregon. The contact for any privacy question is andrew@andrewcmcguire.com.
When you subscribe to Shipped., I collect your email address. That's it. Kit (formerly ConvertKit) handles the list and the delivery.
When you fill out the contact form, my assistant receives your name, work email, company, mobile number (if you provide one), and your message. The form runs through Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out.
For traffic data, I use Plausible. Plausible does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not store any personal data. It tells me which pages people read. Nothing more.
I send you the newsletter you signed up for.
The assistant responds to your contact form message and routes it to me if it's something I should see.
I look at Plausible to understand which essays land and which don't.
Kit, for newsletter delivery. Steadybase, the company I run, for processing your contact form intake (the assistant is built on Steadybase). Cloudflare, for spam protection.
Nobody else. I do not sell your data. I do not rent it. I do not trade it. Ever.
If you live anywhere in the world, you can email andrew@andrewcmcguire.com and ask me to delete everything I have on you. I'll do it within seven days.
If you live in the EU or UK, you have specific rights under GDPR: access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object. Same email, same response time.
If you live in California, you have specific rights under CCPA: to know, to delete, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. I do not sell personal information, so the third one is automatic. The first two work the same way: email me.
andrew@andrewcmcguire.com. I answer these personally.
