Introduction
Andy Mewborn is a dynamic entrepreneur and sales leader known for his innovative approach in the tech industry.
Here's few things you should already know about Andy.
- Andy began his entrepreneurial journey at a young age, becoming the richest kid in his elementary school by reselling Coke cans.
- He hit the Presidents Club 3 times at Outreach.
- He has consistently posted on LinkedIn every single day for 4+ years and grown his audience to 192K+ followers.
- Andy has shared 3400+ posts on LI having 586k+ likes, 142k+ comments, and 30k+ reposts.
- He successfully exited his company Taplio, which empowered creators to grow their LinkedIn presence using AI technology.
- He is the founder and CEO of Distribute, a venture aimed at transforming how software sales teams operate, likened to "the Mexican Liquid Death for software."
I'm really excited to share his journey with you.
Let's get into it.
Content Style: Specialized Disruptor
As a Specialized Disruptor, Andy has been able to follow unconventional norms. He's been able to found a company, exit it and start another all on the back of his LinkedIn audience. The consistency and continued ability to post (with his humor) is what differentiates him from the rest of the creators I've broken down in this story.
I'm not sure if his journey started at the point where I was able to capture the data but I do believe it will tell you a fantastic story. Let's go!
We All Start Somewhere
Some of the tricks I find other top creators do, Andy took to a new level.
And guess what??
It worked for him.
But before we get into all those, take a quick look at how it all started in 2014.
Andy Mewborn began posting on LinkedIn exactly 10 years ago. After his first 3 posts in 2014, he took a break for 1+ years before resuming in 2016.
With his first post shared on June 30, 2014, Andy managed to get 2 likes and another 1 on a post he shared about 2 months later.
In his first 2 years of using LinkedIn, he had 3 likes.
Just that. Nothing more.
Andyโs first few posts on LinkedIn were only reposts of other users - nothing at all from him.
He would later share up to 1k+ posts in a single year, but his starting point was sharing 3 posts in 2 years.
We all start somewhere!

This was his highest reactions so far (in his first 3 years of posting on LI), one of the few he has his own words - the rest are just reposts.

Mark Kosoglow on how outreach uses outreach #unleash17 (30 reactions, 2 comments)
This may not count as a significant performance today (he has 1000s on a single post), but it was definitely his best performance as of June 2017.
And from the comments, you can tell that the engagement was probably from folks who were also at the same event.
Hereโs what helped this performance:
- Andy mentioned Mark Kosoglow (I have an edition about him here; but make sure you read this to the end as well).
- He also mentioned the event - #unleash 17
- He included a picture of the presentation

Testing Phase
In 2019, Andy decided to get more โseriousโ with posting on LinkedIn.
In 2018, he shared only 45 posts.
This time, he posted 135 times.
And with these 135 posts, Andy got 8,620 reactions, 1,225 comments, and 196 reposts.
Thatโs 9x his stats in the previous year (965 reactions, 259 comments, 37 reposts).
Not just that, he also worked on his copywriting skills at this point.
I have a confession to make. (1,402 reactions, 84 comments, 37 reposts)
Andyโs last all-time high was just 100+. This time, he had a whooping 1,400+ engagements on a single post (9x his previous high).
The first thing you notice about this post is the hook. I bet that hook just โhooksโ you down.
When someone mentions they have a secret to tell you, you just want to know what it is.
And the copy was also well written, with good case studies.

This is the same text as in his last viral post... even yields higher performance this time.
Resharing a highly engaging post will yield good performance (with or without tweaking)
Amazon has 400k employees in the US and just announced plans to hire 100k more. (762 reactions, 87 comments, 62 reposts)
Giving value (to the right audience) drives engagement. This post is all about giving necessary information and opportunities that will help others.
Also, see the CTA:
"Comment below on other companies that are hiring.
Let's help folks that may be looking for a new workplace right now. ๏ธ๏ธ๏ธ"
If you know a company thatโs actively hiring, even youโd post it.

Finding Andy's Creator Style
Life is too short to work with AEs who aren't grateful for SDRs. (794 reactions, 90 comments, reposts)
In 2021, Andy shared 541 posts - that's way more than just one post per day.
With this 2x increase against 292 the previous year, Andy had 5x the engagement he had in 2020 - 66,238 comments, 12,952 comments, 584 reposts.
CONSISTENCY is the JOKER of LinkedIn game. You want better performance, post more!
The result compounds.
Good morning to everyone who waves at the end of zoom calls and is not ashamed (6,689 reactions, 522 comments, 75 reposts)
โGood morning everyoneโฆโ became Andyโs signature move in 2021.
He literally used this phrase (to start his posts) 200+ times.
And who doesnโt like a little bit of humor.
Just let it resonate with your audience and youโll get good engagement.
Letโs check out another post in the seriesโฆ
Good morning to everyone who quietly whispers 'f*ck' at their computer screen a few times a day (1,012 reactions, 121 comments, 5 reposts)
Yesterday I fired American Airlines. (2,277 reactions, 168 comments, 68 reposts)
Hereโs why (I believe) this post performed well:
- The hook: Just by reading the hook, you want to know the rest of the story - itโs highly compelling.
- Storytelling: The opening โhereโs the storyโ is another trigger to lure you to read the next line. As a general rule, your first line is to get your readers to read the second line, and your second line is to get your readers interested in reading the nextโฆ and the nextโฆ and the next....
- Great use of white place: letting your copy breathe allows your readers to breathe, assimilate, and enjoy your story.
Me on Zoom looking at myself 100% of the time in the little window (13,544 reactions, 314 comments, 248 reposts).
Andyโs first time crossing 10k reaction.
Coupled with the โGood morning everyone... seriesโ, itโs safe to say that Andy has mastered the art of triggering response with the shortest line possible.
Less is more when you know how to wield the sword of resonating content with the right audience.

This is one of the posts that makes me consider Andy as the repost master.
I saw this post and it lit a bulb in my head...
I thought... โI remembered this postโ, but it wasnโt from February 2022. So I did a quick Control F.
Surprisingly, Andy shared this same post a dozen times.
Yes, 12 times.
Here and there, I've seen creators reshare their posts... but no one does it this much.
Andy performed this trick, not just twice, but 12x.
When you have a high-performing post, share it again, and againโฆ it will always perform well.
Andy Mewborn's proof of that.

Right now, Andy started using carousels, infographics and cheat sheets. A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words - his performance in 2023 is a testament to this. 9 LinkedIn Tips (1,161 reactions, 182 comments, 106 reposts)
Conclusion
Having spent countless hours reviewing Andy's 10-year LinkedIn journey, here's the top key takeaways (that will help you):
- Post consistently - it compounds.
- Repost your post.
- Use visuals
It was really fun (for me) dissecting Andy's 3.4k post and recollecting some of his posts I've seen in the past without even remembering them.
And this all makes sense with the #2 takeaway from him. But we'll get into the details of that in a bit.
For now, let's start from #1...
1. Post consistently - it compounds
Consistency > Perfection.
Waiting to have a perfect copy before hitting POST is another way of saying "I'll never post anything on LinkedIn".
Andy's journey is filled with posts that may not appear nearly as perfect as he would want them to be. But he posted regardless.
The more you post, the better you get... not the other way round.
Just. Post. Consistently.
Check out his stats:
Stats | posts | reactions | comments | reposts |
---|---|---|---|---|
2020 | 292 | 14,675 | 2,934 | 162 |
2021 | 541 | 66,238 | 12,952 | 584 |
2022 | 1,337 | 120,034 | 37,724 | 2,024 |
2023 | 581 | 306,830 | 53,780 | 25,073 |
For every rise in consistency, there is a bigger result (even when the posts are not perfect).
For 2x posts in 2023, Andy had 2x reactions, 3x comments, and 4x reposts.
Here's the fun part...
In 2023, he posted 0.5x of 2022...
And he got 2.5x reactions, 1.5x comments, and 12x reposts.
That is the compounding effect of consistency.
Even when you post less.
Consistency gives the boost.
It's called ripple effect.
2. Repost your post
I've seen top creators share the same post a couple of times, but none of them does it better than Andy.
He definitely did that more than just a couple of times - he went through the roof!
When you have a high performing post, you can always share it again.
...and again
...and again
...you know it... and again.
The majority of your audience won't remember it. And even if they do remember, just like me... the value of the post will compel them to engage again... and again... and again.
Check this out:
Andy shared this same posts a dozen times...literally. Here's another one that Andy posted 9 different times:
Even his all-time highest performing post is a repost that he had previously shared one month earlier.
Be your own superfan.
Reshare your post.
3. Use visuals
In 2023, Andy made a huge decision... And that is to go all out using carousels, charts, infographics and cheat sheets. Before this time, he had crossed 1k reactions only a handful of times. But when he implemented images, getting 1000s of reactions became a regular thing; Not just spikes anymore. Even his all-time high post is an infographic post with only 3 words. Check it out:
Here's how using images help you:
- More color and style
- Less space
- Less words
- Less time
Text and pictures read differently to users.
A picture is still worth a thousand words.
It's been fun watching Andy's growth in this Newsletter edition.
See you next week with another insightful edition.
